After spending so much time to get accepted into a great school, I thought that taking advantage of the alumni network was a must. This was all new to me since I was the first person in my family to go to college in the US, but it felt like the right thing to do. It wasn't hard to extrapolate that over time to then think of all alumni connections across work, school, and other activities as important people to stay in touch with and create new connections.
